Speaking Center Coordinator and Lecturer in Speaking and Writing
The Writing, Speaking, and Argument Program (WSAP) at the University of Rochester invites applications for a one-year renewable position as speaking center coordinator and lecturer in speaking and writing.
We seek candidates with a primary commitment to teaching, an interest in research, and the ability to contribute positively to our innovative and collaborative interdisciplinary community. A PhD and expertise with the practice and pedagogy of public speaking is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities include coordinating the Speaking Center and teaching some combination of first-year composition, speaking and/or peer tutoring, and upper-level professional writing courses. The teaching load is 20 credits per year, typically a combination of four- and two-credit courses distributed across the fall and spring semesters. Other responsibilities include attending program meetings and workshops and generally helping to strengthen current and emerging programs.
Nine-month contract beginning approximately September 1, 2015 – May 31, 2016.
