Biography

Justin Coyne teaches professional communication and first-year composition courses. He earned his PhD in English from the University of Rochester with a concentration in twentieth-century American Literature. His dissertation research focused on a strain of cosmopolitan thought within experimental African American fiction. The themes of his composition classes have branched out from these research interests, but what hasn’t changed is his interest exploring critical social and political issues through a focus on language and its uses.

When Justin is not teaching, he can be found exploring the mountains, lakes, rivers and trails with his two children.
