College Writing Program
Writing Center Resources for Writers
The Writing Center is staffed by graduate student writing consultants and undergraduate writing fellows from the humanities, the social sciences, and the natural and applied sciences. Whether you’re working on an essay for a class or a statement for an internship, job or graduate school application, writing consultants and writing fellows can help you at any stage, from brainstorming for a topic to polishing a final draft. In addition to our face to face and online tutoring we also offer support for upper level writing courses.
- Writing consultants are graduate students from a variety of disciplines. Consultants offer 50-minute face-to-face tutoring sessions Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm. You may schedule an appointment online, or by calling 273-3577.
ATTENTION STUDENTS: Due to construction, fall 2009 Writing Consultant appointments will be held in the College Writing Program’s temporary office on the fourth floor of Dewey Hall, 4-219.
- Writing fellows are UR undergraduates who are trained as writing tutors. Fellows offer convenient evening and weekend drop-in hours, Sunday 2-10pm and Monday-Thursday 7-11pm.
- Online tutoring is now available via G-chat in Gmail. A UR writing tutor will be available online to respond to your questions about writing and offer consultation about select portions of your writing projects. Just email URtutoring@gmail.com anytime to get your name added to the system and then message the username URtutoring in Gmail during the virtual drop-in hours: Sunday-Thursday 9-11p.m.
- Write-On is currently under construction. This service will return shortly. Sorry for the inconvenience.
