January 27: Writing Workshop I “Sources, Citations, and Abstracts, Some Conventions". 
Time:  8:30
Location: Gavett 244

A writing center consultant and a Rush Rhees science librarian will lead this workshop. Students will learn how to find, use and cite sources and how to use proper citations formats. Students will also be introduced to writing abstracts and constructing tables and figures. 

February 17: Writing Workshop II “Working from Oral to Written Presentations”
Time: 9:00
Location: Gavett 208

A writing center consultant will lead this workshop. Students will learn how to construct a written document from material originally prepared for oral presentation.

February 19: Peer feedback workshop “Getting Feedback on your Drafts”
Time:  8:30
Location:  Gavett 208

During this workshop, students will work in groups, reading and critiquing each other’s written reports. The writing fellows will lead peer feedback workshop.

March 17: Writing Workshop III “Use and Abuse of the Conventions of Technical Writing”
Time: 9:00
Location: Gavett 208

A writing center consultant will lead this workshop. Students will learn how to write readable documents following conventions of scientific writing; to distinguish between necessary technical terminology and jargon to be avoided.

April 17 – 29: Optional individual meetings with the writing consultants or the writing fellows.
Time: by appointment (for the consultants) or walk-in hours (for the fellows). See the fellows’ walk-in hours below.
Location: the College Writing Center office, Rush Rhees G121 (for the consultants); see the fellows’ locations below.

April 27: Peer feedback workshop "Getting Feedback on your Drafts"

During this workshop, students will work in groups, reading and critiquing each others‚ written reports. The writing fellows will lead peer feedback workshop.
