Biography
Matthew Bayne is an assistant professor in the Writing, Speaking, and Argument Program. He is also the Placement Coordinator, helping students navigate the Primary Writing Requirement (PWR). His training is in English Literature, more specifically, Victorianism, with an emphasis on post-colonialism, gender/sexuality, and cultural studies. These interests have played out in the plethora of courses--from WRTG 105 to EAPP--that Matthew has the pleasure of teaching for the Writing Program. Matthew is passionate about all things writing, with particular interests in genre, voice, identity, and affect and writing (including the role of reflection in writing processes). In his free time Matthew (unsurprisingly) enjoys reading and writing. He also likes to master new yoga poses and play with his adorably unruly puppy.
