JOB TITLE: EAPP Lecturer
The Writing, Speaking, and Argument Program at the University of Rochester invites applications for a one-year lectureship in the undergraduate EAPP to begin Fall Semester 2011.
A terminal degree (M.A., M.A.T., or Ph.D.) in TESOL, Education, Applied Linguistics, Functional Linguistics, Writing Studies, Composition/Rhetoric or related field is required. ABDs will be considered.
We welcome applications with a demonstrated interest in teaching EAPP writing at the college level as well as an interest in EAPP/SLA research. Experience working with students in scientific disciplines is a plus for this nine-month contract. Salary and benefits are competitive. The responsibilities include:
- teaching EAPP Speaking & Listening and Reading & Writing integrated courses and/or first-year composition in our interdisciplinary, theme-based Writing, Speaking, and Argument Program (2/2 load)
- collaborating with the EAPP to develop and strengthen the curriculum
- designing and facilitating EAPP workshops for students, writing instructors, tutors, and faculty in the disciplines
- attending WRT 571 a summer pedagogy course
