1. This program sounds interesting. How do I apply?

2. Will I receive the same degree as other students?

Yes, you will receive the exact same degree as other UR students (once you fulfill the degree requirements, of course). Your degree will allow you the same opportunity for acceptance into a graduate program as any other degree. Moreover, you will be multilingual!

3. If I am admitted through the ESOL Program, how long will it take to earn a degree?

Taking the required ESOL Program courses may extend the total time it takes to complete your degree.  After successfully completing 16 credits per semester during the first year, students who average 16 credits per semester over the next three years would need an additional 8 credits to graduate.  You will find, however, that Rochester offers several options that allow you to complete these additional 8 credits and accelerate coursework, such as taking an extra course during a later semester or taking a course during a summer term.
