Overview
This website provides an interactive interface for exploring teaching materials that focus on writing instruction.
The WSAP INSTRUCTOR MATERIALS tab will take you to materials organized by WSAP learning outcome criteria. You can scroll through the options for each category using the forward and back arrows. Information about the type of material (e.g., handout, lesson plan) and topic are visible without clicking; to find out more or download the handout, click on the “card” describing the material.
The ADDITIONAL RESOURCES tab contains links to online resources that instructors have found useful.
Have a question? Want to add materials? Contact us:

- Liz Tinelli (liz.tinelli@rochester.edu)
If you want to add materials, you can simply email us the materials and say that it’s for the WSAP INSTRUCTOR MATERIALS website, and we will handle the rest! However, if you have the time, it’s helpful if you include a brief blurb that we will include on the site, including:
- Overview (3-5 sentences) including the type of material (e.g., lesson plan), who it is from (your name as you like it displayed), and where the material was adapted from, if applicable (e.g., adapted from Elbow and Belanoff’s “Sharing and Responding”)
- Uses (3-5 sentences on what writing instructional task this material supports)
- How to use in class (3-5 sentences, focusing on what you have learned about best practices, possible pitfalls, whether it’s suitable for upper-level writing, etc.)
