Opportunities in the Writing Program
JOB TITLE: INSTRUCTOR TRAINING COORDINATOR (position has been filled)

WRT 571/ENG 571 and WRT 572 /ENG 572 were formerly CAS 571/ENG 571 and CAS 572/ENG 572.
The Instructor Training
Coordinator helps the Writing Program Director and/or the Assistant Director
- develop and coordinate
instructor training for new WRT 105 instructors, including arranging meetings,
preparing and distributing appropriate training materials, visiting classes,
and assisting instructors as needed;
- develop and co-teach
English 571, the training seminar that prepares new instructors to teach
in the writing program, and English 572, a series of practicums held throughout
the academic year to support writing instruction; and
- keep records and compile
program data.
The Instructor Training
Coordinator will also work closely with the Writing Program Director or Assistant Director and the
Writing Center Coordinator to ensure the smooth functioning of the Writing
Program.
Applicants should be accomplished
educators who have taught successfully within the writing program for several
semesters (preferably four or more). Compensation for this position is $12,000
plus $2,000 for co-teaching English 571 in the summer. The coordinator also
has the option to teach the summer session of WRT 105, for which there will
be an additional compensation of $3,000. Applicants must be available between
mid-May and Mid-June and two weeks before classes begin in the fall in order
to participate in instructor training seminars.
