JOB TITLE:  Receptionist for the Writing, Speaking, and Argument Program Rush Rhees Library 304

POSITION SUMMARY:

Acts as liaison between visitors and the Writing, Speaking, and Argument Program’s RR 304 administrative office. Provides direction and assistance, requiring thorough knowledge of the Writing, Speaking, and Argument Program and its procedures.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

Duties include providing routine administrative assistance to the RR 304 office.  This includes greeting students, staff and faculty, ascertaining their needs and directing them accordingly in a friendly, service-oriented manner; answering phones and providing basic information about The Writing, Speaking, and Argument Program.  Performs such clerical duties as: sorting and routing mail; maintaining files, office supplies; monitoring the copier, printer and the Computer Writing Room, and assisting in special projects as needed. This position requires excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi-task during busy time frames.

Work schedule:  Monday through Friday; 9:00 a.m. – noon;

1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Academic year only; semester breaks excluded. Hourly rate:  $10 per hour.  Candidate(s) must be full-time matriculated graduate student(s). Prior experience with the Writing, Speaking, and Argument Program a plus.
